Indian Summer
It's November for crying out loud! And the middle of it to boot. I live in NWPA & we usually get a last hurrah of unseasonably warm weather in late fall. But this is remarkable. And it's expected to continue through the next week. And worth a mention: We've already had snowfall. Snow that stuck.
There were two neighborhood girls swimming in the pond at our house for an hour yesterday. It was that nice out. I'm not sure of the water temperature but the air was a balmy 70+.

In December this dock is usually the ice skating launch. This is really unlike any other Indian Summer we've had. At least that I can remember. At this rate, the pond won't be hard enough to skate on until February.
Even the ducks were happy and didn't mind being chased out of their home for awhile.
Ducky. Yep.

Wow! It hasn't been that warm in Maine. It's been mild, but i'm not breaking out my swimsuit, believe me!
I just stopped by from SITS to say hi; hope you will do the same.
I hate to sound like a fuddy duddy but i swear things like this are proof of global warming! I remember outdoor rinks being ready by middecember when i was a kid - like in the 80's thank you! And snow i could jump into from our deck. What happened to winters like that?
I love when you drop in, Eva! :) I swear it must be a kid thing...it was warm alright, but I wasn't jumping in b/c I know that the water temp has dropped & figure this gal's heart probably couldn't take the shock.
Typo, I don't think you sound like a fuddy duddy. You're definitely not alone in your thinking, that's for sure. I've been hearing that comment a lot, lately. But I'm with you because I so remember the snow & ice being solid in the 80's (your welcome!) too:) Now our winters linger far into April sometimes, when there should be rain showers we get blasted with snowstorms...BOO!
